Monkeypod Kitchen in Wailea is known for its signature Mai Tai, made with locally sourced rum and a house-made macadamia nut orgeat topped with a honey-lilikoi foam. It's our favorite Mai Tai on the island! It’s the perfect drink to enjoy alongside their delicious, island-inspired menu, featuring everything from wood-fired pizzas to fresh seafood. There is an additional location in Kaanapali if you visit West Maui.

Haleakalā National Park

Haleakalā National Park is a natural wonder renowned for its stunning volcanic landscapes and unique biodiversity. Home to the dormant Haleakalā volcano, which rises over 10,000 feet above sea level, the park offers breathtaking vistas of volcanic craters, lush rainforests, and rare native species. Visitors can experience awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets from the summit, hike through diverse ecosystems, and marvel at endemic plants and wildlife found nowhere else on Earth.


Sunset and sunrise are popular times to visit the national park. We visited during sunset, and it was absolutely stunning. If you decide to visit for sunrise, use the website link below to secure your permit for a reservation!

Baby Beach in Spreckelsville is a favorite local spot, known for its calm waters and laid-back vibe. Tucked away from the usual tourist crowds, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful day by the ocean. The shallow lagoon is protected by a reef and creates safe and calm swimming conditions. You will be sure to see many locals going for their daily walks and swims with their doggos. It is a true hidden gem on North Shore Maui and our favorite beach on the island.

Road to Hana

The Road to Hana is a legendary journey along Maui's northeastern coast, celebrated for its scenic beauty and cultural richness. This winding road stretches approximately 64 miles, with over 40 stops showcasing lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and panoramic ocean views at every turn, leading to the quaint east-Maui town of Hana.


We recommend making this a day trip. If you have an adequate rental vehicle, drive yourself and use an app-guided tour (our personal favorite). To keep it manageable, we advise that you research the stops well beforehand and plan out your day (it's a long one but a worthwhile one). Alternatively, you can book a guided tour. Reach out to the concierge service for more information!

Waiʻānapanapa State Park

Waiʻānapanapa State Park, home of the famous black sand beach, is nestled along Maui's rugged eastern coastline. The jet-black volcanic sand beaches, contrasted against vibrant blue waters, create a striking backdrop. Visitors can wander through lush tropical foliage to discover ancient lava tubes, sea caves, and natural arches carved by the ocean waves.
